omg omg omg!~ HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE OPENS TOMORROW! screams. although by the time u read this, you'll probably glance at ur comp clock and mutter "its today."haha! its coming its coming its coming! finally.waited really long for this movie, and i know the reviews haven't been totally ideal, but i just have this feeling its going to be good. already booked tix with shuf and xin. kass ure a meanie as usual. :)im even ponning the lear movie and pc class for this la! rarrhhhh- really wanted to catch the lear movie too. nvm shall just borrow next time and harry potter is SO much more important. speaking of reviews. i couldn't believe my eyes when i read ong sor fern's review of GoF today. okay so on the front page of life! it says the movie lacked punch. so here i was thinking shit its probably a bad review and then i flip to the page and wtf the comments are good! i mean, she basically spent her entire article praising the movie's contents, and then on the very last line she adds "however, newcomers will probably find that the movie lacks punch." -.-"
where's the sense in that i ask you. absolutely illogical. i mean, this is like a review of one of my favourite things of all time you're debauching. if u wanna slam also slam properly can? talk abt lousy writing. ong sor fern and that sumiko tan. but compared to my favourite journalist of all time, Mr tay yek keak (is that even how you spell it? weird name la.), he wins hands down immediately. he is the most amazing (and i am insulting him btw) journalist i've ever seen. his articles are just so painful. you can tell that he's trying so desperately to be funny but its NOT. its sooo funny that hitler is screeching in his grave. its sooo funny that lee kuan yew is even thinking of censoring it. NOT. i tell you everytime i read his articles, i cringe.oh wells. as i was discussing with shufen just now, its probably because singapore's standard of english isn't very high anyway. cAnT bE heLp cUz sOmE pPl eNglAnd vErY poWdeRful aNd lOvE tO tYpE LikE tHiS.don't get me wrong i'm not insulting everyone. haha! there are tons of mass comm graduates every year who can't get jobs and why? because SPH is so reluctant to let those old fogeys like tay yek keak, who've seriously overstayed their welcome, go. we need some new blood!!! come on man! no pain no gain! I feel that Singapore's standard of english has been stagnant for quite a while already.and ley me take this chance (i know i know, ever the opportunist) to slam my previous GP teacher in my 1st 3 mths jc. for privacy's sake (and also because she might sue me la) i'm not going to name her or the jc. lets just say i had to correct her, me a student her a teacher, because she marked my essay wrongly. incredible really. and her spoken english sucked too. what is NIE doing?!ok ok i realise i've been flaming loads of ppl, better stop before gahmen come after me.on the other hand, there are good teachers around, like mr whitby (*heart*!) and mrs wong, my gp teacher this yr and my bio teacher last yr respectively. they were really good.oh we finally finished king lear! *dances the chicken dance* after like overshooting deep into the november hols (ahem), we covered the last line of the last act this morning, after which there was applause in the lt. haha! looks like i'm obviously not the only one getting thoroughly sick of it. and she even forgot about the overview.anyway. bought nice blue wedges. going to wear them tmr. hope i don't fall. haha. nanny nanny boo boooooo-and november's chopin would have been even greater if not for the filler happy tracks
