watched the goblet of fire. :D biiiig smiley.
ok first and foremost, as i'm sure this is the burning question on everyone's mind, harry did not kiss cho chang.
haha! no la jk, i know the ultimate question. and yes, ppl go and watch the movie because it's a harry potter movie, and harry potter movies can't go that wrong. not to mention, if ure a fan, you'll like it even more. note that i am not gushing with praise about the movie.
ok it was good i have to admit, better than PS and CoS, but is it better than PoA? hmmm i really can't say. the thing is, there were alot of new scenes that were introduced that weren't in the book, and some were good whereas some were cliched. by cliched, i really do mean cheesy-cliched, like the sidestep dance harry and cho were doing in the owlery (is that scene even in the book?!) but others, like when harry and cedric apparate back to the maze after the rebirth of voldemort, were twisted such that they made it even more interesting than the book. ok granted its hollywood-interesting, but for us ppl who've been weaned on hollywood on tv ever since we were like toddlers, its not bad at all.
also, the pace was way too fast. u could tell the director was trying to compress this 400+ page monolithic piece of literature into a 2.5 hour movie. non harry potter fans would be lost for half of the movie.
and ohmygod the things that they changed just to suit the movie. spoiler ahead btw.

WHERE IS THE QUIDDITCH WORLD CUP MATCH!!?? they just totally ignored it!! wtf. all they show are the mascots appearing and krum doing this totally ego lap around the stadium in front of this giant poster of him, and then poof! thats it. cut back to the tent where the extremely irritating ron and the rest of the weasleys are goofing around and then the death eater attack happens. i don't think they even mentioned who won la.
btw ppl if ure a non xiaxue hater, go read her blog. she really SLAMS the whole movie and made it seem really horrible. amusing stuff. i have to agree with her on some pts however. i didn't like the beauxbatons girls going "ahhh" "ahhh" during their arrival, and all the cliched butterflies and birds fluttering around them were eurghh. and hello? beauxbatons is a bloody mixed school, mr director. maybe they couldn't find enough cute french guys. haha.
and yes, jay chou would actually make a good krum, haha just that his eyebrows aren't bushy enough and he's too pale. not to mention chinese-accented english. haha can u imagine jay going her1-my3-oh3-nin1-ny2. lol. the numbers stand for the qiang, for those who still don't get it.
oh and i didn't like moody being blonde, doesn't suit his character. and didn't like dumbledore being so bloody violent, its just not him la! and hermione's dress should be periwinkle blue, not peeeenk. eurh. maybe they thought pink clashed too much with her hair colour or smth. i wish they'd done more on hermione and krum, and fleur. i don't think fleur even spoke in the movie la, except for the french bit with her sister. barty crouch wasn't barty crouch at all, and ludo bagman mysteriously disappeared. but the filch parts were funny though :p comic timing was actually pretty good, seeing as this is the mike newell who helmed four weddings and a funeral.
ok. this is NOT a bad review of the movie, alright, i'm not as muddled as that ong sor fern. most of the movie was definitely very enjoyable, and i particularly liked rita skeeter. really good acting. and voldemort too, u could sense the dark menacing power emanating from him. alright alright, it is ralph fiennes, the guy who bloody acted as hitler before, after all.
and harry looks hot in the prefect's bathroom scene. :) didn't like how slutty they made myrtle though. draco is hoooot. shuf still can't get over the suit he wore at the world cup. haha. oh and xin and i couldn't stop laughing when voldemort appeared, bloody ironic la. she just didn't realise that he was going to be bald. lol. oh well you learn something new everyday :)
okok so after all that crap, the moral of the story is, go watch the goblet of fire! yupyups.
shit i missed spongebob. bleagh. my cousins wedding is tmr and my hair is messy shit. i like the lyrics for jay's yequ. and faruxue! damn nice. and have i mentioned fish leong's silu before? ppl go dl like now.

muackmuacks!-
